Insight into Academia: Academic Futures - More than Research
An increasing number of academic roles require specific expertise beyond research. Teaching, knowledge exchange and other activities are key parts of academic life and can form a major part of many academic jobs. We will take a holistic look at the modern academic and discuss strategies for positioning yourself for diverse academic roles in the UK, the USA and beyond. We’ll look at ways to develop experience beyond your core research, how to demonstrate skills to potential employers and take a quick look at how to write a statement of your “teaching philosophy”.

All welcome. Feel free to bring your lunch.
