OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
'The Unremembered Nation-Bhutan' by Karma Ura
Dasho Karma Ura, President of the Centre for Bhutan and GNH Studies, and Visiting Fellow at OPHI, will present his most recent two-volume book The Unremembered Nation – Bhutan in which he provides a profound understanding of Bhutanese culture, society and history. These volumes are a unique and enthralling treasure trove of knowledge and shared wisdom about the complex and little-known society and culture of Bhutan, and a reflection on Karma Ura’s personal experience of the land and its people.
Dinah Rose, Magdalen President, Sabina Alkire, OPHI Director, and Sir Simon Bowes Lyon KCVO, President of The Bhutan Society of the United Kingdom, will join Karma Ura to discuss his extensive research and field work which brings his account of Bhutan to life. The renowned speakers will also invite the audience to reflect on the inevitable changes all nations go through.
