OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Lunchtime Discussion: Alternative Dispute Resolution
Doug Wigdor is a St Cross alumnus and top New York employment Lawyer. Wigdor has been at the forefront of some of the most widely publicized sexual harassment and sexual assault cases that have made headline news around the world.
Some decades ago it was standard to hear of various efficiencies of ADR as opposed to litigation, that ADR should be a “go to” in the interests of clients; but since then, legal commentators scholarly and professional have chipped away at that generalization. While ADR can have better results for the right client, choosing the course of ADR/Litigation/Settlement/Let it Go, is highly subjective. In this informal lunch chat we will talk about how one counsels the client on the wisest course.
This event is open to all current University of Oxford members.
