You Can’t Buy What You Can’t See: an exploration of gender variance in popular entertainment from pantomime to post- ‘tipping point’. '
“An introduction to my recent work and interests including – pantomime’s roots in pre-industrial folk practises, the purpose of gender variance in popular culture – adverts, music videos, talk shows, telly etc – and how this links to current conceptions of contemporary trans identity, sad British showbiz and its overlap with more avante-garde conceptions of ‘queer culture’. I’ll show some of my film work and present some of my influences and research.”
