Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Join us for our 2-day online conference, Tuesday August 15, 2023 and Wednesday August 16, 2023.
In the decade since the violent dispersal in Cairo on August 14, 2013 of two sit-ins protesting the ouster of Egyptian and MB-affiliated President Muhammad Morsi, Muslim and Islamist discourse has gone through multifaceted transformations. This workshop brings together academics to investigate the Raba’a massacre as a site from which to make sense of these transformations and how they bear on prospects for democracy.
Our conference convenors are Dr Usaama al-Azami (University of Oxford) and Gehad Hasanin (University of Oxford).
The latest version of the conference programme is available through our Oxford Middle East Centre events webpages: www.sant.ox.ac.uk/events/prospects-democracy-and-muslim-subject-reflecting-rabaa-massacre-ten-years
We very much look forward to having you with us online. Your personal ZOOM link will work for both days of the conference, Tuesday August 15 and Wednesday August 16.
