OxTalks is Changing

On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).

There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Resilient enterprise: Examining policies to encourage farmer innovation

Resilient agri-food enterprises, from small farms to processing stations, are key to a sustainable food system. However, encouraging more resilient enterprises requires the design and implementation of coordinated policy reforms that promote environmentally, socially and financially balanced food system outcomes. But in examples from Sri Lanka to the Netherlands, we see examples of policy hampering, not helping, transition. Strong, replicable policymaking is key to advancing an enabling environment that supports sustainable farming. Thus, this panel will examine case studies of recent policy successes, challenges, and lessons learnt in agri-food systems, focusing on how policy solutions can help support farmer wellbeing against a background of environmental pressures, extreme weather, and other climate-related events.
