Join us for an insightful high-level panel discussion on poverty exit strategies in Nigeria, hosted by the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
This event will take place on Friday 16 January 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30pm, at Lecture Theatre VIII, Thatcher Business Education Centre, Saïd Business School. Drinks will be served from 1:30pm.
This session brings together senior Nigerian policymakers, international partners, and global experts to discuss how evidence from the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and integrated safety net systems can inform poverty reduction, economic inclusion, and macroeconomic strategy.
The discussion will be moderated by Ms Olushola Bidemi Afolayan, Social Protection and Poverty Graduation Expert.
The event offers a unique opportunity for members of the Oxford community to engage directly with Nigeria’s leadership and global partners on the role of data and evidence in shaping effective, integrated social protection systems.
