OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.

Macular degeneration (MD) is the most common cause of blindness in developed countries and results in a significant reduction in quality of life. It first causes damage to the outer retinal layers of the eye leading to central visual field loss. Although treatments are under development to restore vision, these assume that the rest of the visual pathway remains intact and functional. I will present evidence that macular degeneration leads to structural and functional changes in other parts of the visual pathways, as well as more widespread effects on the brain and cognition.
