OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Mastering the Essentials of Grounded Theory

The Centre for the Study of Lifelong Language Learning is offering this prime opportunity to improve your qualitative research skills.
Professor Gregory Hadley, Visiting Fellow at Kellogg College, and author of Grounded Theory in Applied Linguistics Research: A Practical Guide (Routledge, 2017), will facilitate this extended online workshop (27 June – 8 July 2022). The session is ideal for graduate students, supervisors, and researchers new to qualitative research methods, and will equip you with greater confidence and understanding when using this methodology.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
Understand the philosophies, purposes and practices of Grounded Theory methodology
Analyse data using open, focused, and theoretical coding
Present and defend their findings
Assess the quality of your research as well as other grounded theory projects
A Certificate of Completion will be provided
