Using LLMs for research
Nellaker Group

With the rapid rise of LLM based agentic AI chatbots we have a new powerful tool at our disposal to drive research forward – maybe. Everyone in the university now has access to ChatGPT Edu, so how does this work, and how should we and should we not use this?

We will give a quick explanation of how these models work in simple terms, common use cases for these tools in research and an overview of risks and dangers of which to be wary. We can’t give a complete list of do’s and don’ts, but we hope to help you thinking in the right way around these issues as we all navigate how to use LLMs in research with integrity and confidence.
