OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Big Data: curse or cure?
Join Department of Psychiatry’s Prof Simon Lovestone, Nina Hallowell from Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Daniel Kaute from the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre Patients and Research Group for a discussion chaired by writer and broadcaster, Timandra Harkess.
Big Data has the potential to save the world. Scientists use it to develop targeted treatments for devastating conditions. But can we trust that our precious information is being safeguarded? There could not be a more timely moment to discuss these issues. A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion. Part of IF Oxford Science and Ideas Festival.
