On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.
If you have any questions, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Following our experimental first session last term, we will be launching a new talk series exploring some of the technical aspects of computing and software development.
These sessions will be an hour long with two 20 minute presentations and an opportunity for discussion around each talk.
This session we will have Min Chen talking about fundamentals of visualisation and how to make the most of data through graphics and Stef Salvini talking about the importance of understanding numerics in computing and some of the dangers that lie therein.
The first meeting is planned for the 1pm 27th of February in Lecture theatre B of the Wolfson Building (7 Keble Rd. Entrance)
If you wish to be informed directly of future sessions please send an email to me at jacob.wilkins@oerc.ox.ac.uk.
We hope to see you there.
Jacob
