Meet the Artists in Residence

Last summer, Queen’s welcomed figurative painter Kayoon Anderson and multi-disciplinary artist and filmmaker Di Mainstone to College for our first creative residency programme. This term we are delighted to welcome them both back to College to share their work from that creative period. Kayoon will present three new paintings of members of Queen’s and Di will show her film ‘Mind Garden’ created in the College. The works explore the themes of identity and existential threat.

Kayoon’s practice centres on the relationships between people and spaces. For her, the diversity of the College’s community, alongside its historic architecture, raised interesting questions of identity, heritage, and belonging. During her residency, Di explored the emotional and neurological evolution of our species through the lens of climate change.
