Track and Sign - the naturalist's forgotten skill
The ability to accurately identify and interpret Track and Sign rests on a body of traditional knowledge that previous generations of naturalists would have regarded as fundamental. Sadly, now it is largely unknown and untaught, but with the upsurge of Citizen Science, it is perhaps more relevant than ever.

A long-time resident of Oxford and Chair of Oxfordshire Mammal Group, Bob’s curiosity to understand the natural world has led him to an enthusiastic study of Track and Sign. In 2018, Bob was evaluated at Level 3 by the International Tracker Certification scheme. In the UK, only one person has achieved a higher grading.
