OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Join us for our latest event in our Great Thinkers lecture series, where Professor Amitav Acharya will speak on the topic of ‘Who is Afraid of Global International Relations?’ Professor Acharya is the UNESCO Chair in Transnational Challenges and Governance and Distinguished Professor at the School of International Service, American University. He is known for his pioneering work on Global IR, which aims to critique IR’s marginalisation of the voices, experiences, knowledge claims, and contributions of those outside the core countries of the West. The lecture focuses on the question of ‘Who is afraid’ of this turn, highlighting how making IR ‘Global’ ruptures traditional understandings within the discipline by problematising its very basis. This event was made possible with the kind technical support from The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR).
