OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Genius Squared: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Sustainability
Peter will present on his forthcoming book “Genius Squared”, which critically examines trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) – from driverless vehicles to smart products to remote surveillance. He’ll discuss:
* What do current trends in AI mean for the future of global sustainability?
o Will they advance conservation, democratize decision-making and increase the eco-efficiency of global business?
o And/or will they turbo-charge consumerism and empower big business and militarized states at the expense of global citizens and the environment?
* What can we do to guide AI towards protecting, rather than destroying, the earth?
