Fostering the next generation of scientists: Could we do better?
Gary McDowell is Executive Director of Future of Research (FoR), a non-profit organization in the US aimed at improving the scientific research endeavor, with a focus on early career researchers.
He has been appointed to the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine “Next Generation Researchers Initiative” study, which is examining the policy and programmatic steps required to ensure the successful launch and sustainment of careers among the next generation of researchers in biomedical sciences in the US, including the full range of NIH-supported health sciences.
