OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Kelloggiality: Distance learning and the university experience
Kelloggiality is a monthly roundtable bringing together Kellogg fellows, members, students and guests to reflect on (life-long) learning and research in today’s universities. The event will be in-person and online via Teams.
The format is informal and relaxed. Participants will discuss current research, and there will be lots of time for conversation. All welcome, and no need to book. Please join us for refreshments beforehand. If you’d like to know more, or offer to present at a future roundtable, please contact david.mills@kellogg.ox.ac.uk To join online, visit www.kellogg.ox.ac.uk/events/kelloggiality-distance-learning
The first Kelloggiality will focus on: Distance learning and the university experience
Speakers: Prof Jeremy Knox and Lara Karassellos
This first roundtable explores the opportunities for learning and collegiality opened up by blended, digital and distance teaching. It brings together two speakers: Jeremy Knox is a Kellogg Fellow and Professor of Digital Education. He was involved in writing the Edinburgh Manifesto for Teaching Online. Its principles include ‘Online can be the privileged mode’, ‘Distance is a positive principle, not a deficit’ and ‘Place is differently, not less, important online’. Lara Karassellos is a DPhil student researching epistemological access, inclusivity, and social justice in blended learning environments in South African higher education.
Refreshments will be served at 17:00.
