OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Memory, Meaning and Human Identity: The place of theology in constructing the purpose of age in the light of dementia?
As we contemplate what old age might have in store for us they can be no greater fear than the possibility of losing our memory. Modernity may have offered us longevity but at some threat to our well-being and flourishing. This paper will explore some of the theological issues raised by dementia: personhood and identity, mind and memory, body and soul and what it is that we value in human life.
