The Philosophical Café online discussion: 'Newton the Alchemist’
The Philosophical Café invites you to an online discussion on ‘Newton the Alchemist’ with Professor William R. Newman (Indiana University), on Friday, 6 November 2020 at 6pm GMT (UK), 7pm GMT+1 (Central Europe), 8pm GMT+2 (Eastern Europe), 1pm Eastern (US).

The format will be a free discussion in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, underpinned by Newman’s latest book, Newton the Alchemist (Princeton, 2018). It will be hosted by Dana Jalobeanu (University of Bucharest), Georgiana Hedesan (University of Oxford) and Grigore Vida (University of Bucharest).

This is a great opportunity to share your views on alchemy, Newton, and related topics, as well as to ask your questions to one of the foremost experts on the subject. You don’t have to be a specialist in any of the topics to participate and contribute your thoughts!

The event will take place via Zoom and will also be streamed live on YouTube. The preview is available here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOiy7y1czeo

The Philosophical Café (Cafeneaua filosofica) is a weekly online discussion taking place on Zoom and YouTube. There are usually two meetings in English and two in Romanian every month. We invite you to follow our channel on YouTube for news and trailers, at www.youtube.com/c/Cafeneauafilosofica.

The Philosophical Café is a component of the Philosophy after Dark framework. Philosophy after Dark is an invitation to dialogue. It is an attempt to go beyond the format of traditional academic events, in search of new ways to bring philosophy to the general public. Join us in the debate.
