OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Germany after Merkel: recalibrating EU and foreign policies
On the 26th of September, Germans will go to the polls. As Chancellor Angela Merkel will not stand for re-election, this vote will mark the end of an era. The country’s proportional electoral system will force two or more political parties to seek common ground to try to form a government. The new political balance that determined by the ballot box will have a significant impact on the country’s EU and foreign policies and, by the extent, on the European Union’s stand on the global stage. Our guest is Katja Kipping MdB, leader of “Die Linke” in the German Budestag. She will give a talk on “Germany after Merkel: recalibrating EU and foreign policies”. This is a public event and her talk will be followed by a Q&A session open to the audience.
