The Gothic Apprentice: William Blake in Westminster Abbey
During his apprenticeship, William Blake executed a series of pencil sketches and watercolour drawings of the interior of Westminster Abbey. This talk discusses these early pictorial works, now held in the Bodleian Library, and the influence of the Gothic aesthetic on Blake.
