OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Maldivian History: A drop in the Indian Ocean
We have invited Maldivian historians including former President and author Mohamed Nasheed, scholar Xavier Romero-Frias and research analyst Alaa Didi to attend a conference where they will present their scholarly work and discuss their expertise in different eras of Maldivian history. The intended aim for the conference is to address the dearth of material from Maldivian historians and create space for the Maldives in the global and imperial history discourse.
