Politics of the new Poland (or the new politics of the old Poland)
KOLAKOWSKI SEMINAR
This talk will delve into the evolving political landscape of Poland, exploring the “new politics” shaping the country in recent years. It will analyze how historical legacies, cultural shifts, and current political dynamics are transforming Poland’s domestic and foreign policies. Special attention will be given to the rise of populism, changes in governance, and Poland’s role within the European Union. The discussion will also reflect on the tension between Poland’s past and its contemporary political trajectory, offering insights into how the “old” and “new” Poland intersect and influence its future direction.
