‘The engagement to include the services of the wife…’: the domestic work of women at Balliol College
For the next lunchtime talk in conjunction with Balliol College Library’s current exhibition Dervorguilla and Daughters: 750 Years of Women at Balliol, Kathryne Crossley from Kellogg College will discuss her research for her DPhil in Economic and Social History, which brought her to Balliol’s Archives to look into the work of female domestic staff here in the 19th century.
