Introduction to small group teaching in Medicine
Aim: To review the benefits and limitations of teaching students in small groups in medicine and ways of promoting student learning through active participation

Learning objective/outcomes:
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
* Promote active engagement by students in small groups;
* Anticipate and deal with problems relating to dynamics in small groups ;
* Assess learning and evaluate teaching in small groups.

Please spend a few minutes reflecting on the following areas:
* what you would consider to be the important dimensions of good teaching;
* your experience of small group teaching, the benefits and concerns.
Be prepared to share your views with the group.
