OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Exploring Theatre Archives and Collections
This session brings together Simon Sladen (Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum), Jo Elsworth (Director of the Theatre Collection at the University of Bristol), and Robyn Greenwood (Exhibitions and Collections Officer at the RSC) to discuss the management and function of theatre archives and collections. We will consider the challenges of documenting the liveness of performance, the relationship between the archive and the physical space of the theatre, and how the archive might be used to engage with broad and diverse audiences. Each speaker will deliver a short presentation followed by questions from the audience. The event will conclude with a wine reception and the chance to continue the discussion informally.
The room is accessible and all are very welcome – no booking required.
