WELFARE IN FIELDWORK & RESEARCH: Working group for self-care and emotional wellbeing in research
This workshop aims to provide a platform to share and discuss emotional and psychological challenges that researchers face in the field and in other stages of research. We invite you to join us to explore different experiences of fieldwork and research, focusing on specific challenges we faced, and discuss tips and strategies for self-care and mental wellbeing.

Research and fieldwork can have many challenges including: loneliness, emotional distancing, stress and anxiety, helplessness, guilt, dealing with power dynamics, negotiating language barriers, culture shock and reverse culture-shock, and secondary trauma.

Attendees are encouraged to share their own experiences, discuss their concerns and offer advice (if they feel comfortable to do so). The workshop is an inclusive space and we ask for your consideration and respect during discussion.

Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.
