Results from the INCLUSIVE trial of a whole-school health intervention: outcomes, mediators and processes

Professor Bonell will present findings from the INCLUSIVE cluster RCT on the effects of a whole-school intervention as well as the results of the process evaluation which examined mediators and implementation. The intervention targeted secondary schools in south-east England and consisted of training for teachers in restorative practice, setting up action groups in schools to coordinate the intervention and decide local actions, and a student social and emotional skills curriculum. The intervention was informed by a sociological theory of change concerning how modifying the school social environment can reduce rates of bullying and aggression and improve student health.
