OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Assessing resources for Geochemical Carbon Dioxide Removal
Large-scale carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategies are needed for us to reach our climate targets. Geochemical CDR involves approaches that react atmospheric CO2 with naturally occurring rocks or anthropogenic alkaline materials. Many of these technologies are currently being piloted and tested commercially. However, there has been no comprehensiveassessment of the resources available for geochemical CDR. Understanding the spatial distribution, capacity, and accessibility of these materials is essential for informing international climate policy, guiding infrastructure investment, and ensuring environmental safety. This presentation will summarise the current state of knowledge and demonstrate how gCDR resources are fundamental to technology deployment.
