Online NIHR Oxford BRC Virtual Symposium : 'Levelling Up: Evidence based approaches to reducing inequalities in health and access to care'
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities and given rise to new ones. Tackling health and economic inequalities in the post-pandemic United Kingdom effectively will require policies based on solid evidence. The purpose of this symposium is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum focusing on effective ways to ‘level up’, from what is known to evidence gaps that future research should address. The symposium will bring together perspectives on these issues from leading health economists and epidemiologists. They will present recent evidence and discuss some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

-Prof Richard Cookson (Centre for Health Economics, University of York)

-Prof Sandra Eldridge (Professor of Biostatistics and Director of the UKCRC Registered Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry)
