Ashmolean Graphic Arts Seminar. Fragments

The Trinity edition of AGAS will take lace in Eight Week, on Thursday June 16th, when we are delighted that Dr Michael Waters, Scott Opler Junior Research Fellow at Worcester College will lead a discussion around drawings of architectural spolia and disembodied ornament, including those in the celebrated albums collected by John Talman.

The Ashmolean Graphic Arts Seminar is an open and enjoyable forum for doctoral students and members of faculty with an interest in the graphic arts to examine prints and drawings from the Museum¹s collections together, in an informal, discursive environment.
Rather than serving as the subjects of formal presentations, the prints and drawings chosen are introduced by their selectors and then opened to the questions and observations of the group.
The seminar meets at the front entrance to the Ashmolean at 4.45pm and the discussion starts at 5, finishing
around 6.30pm. Any members of the group who are able are welcome to go for a meal afterwards, generously
subsidised by the University Engagement Programme.
Owing to the capacity of the Print Room, each seminar is limited to fifteen participants and due to the seminar
taking place out of Museum hours, latecomers cannot be admitted. Places are allocated in order of replies
received.
