British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships 2020: Faculty Briefing Session for Applicants
The Oxford History Faculty welcomes applications from suitably qualified applicants for this year’s British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme, for awards to be taken up in autumn 2021. The scheme is designed to “offer opportunities for outstanding early career researchers to strengthen their experience of research and teaching in a university environment which will develop their curriculum vitae and improve their prospects of obtaining permanent lecturing posts by the end of the Fellowship. The primary emphasis is on completion of a significant piece of publishable research”. Further details can be found on the British Academy website at www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/funding/postdoctoral-fellowships.

The Faculty will be holding an online briefing session for potential applicants to this year’s round of applications via Teams. This briefing will be hosted by the Faculty’s Research Director, Julia Smith, and current award holder, Dr Lucy Parker. This session will cover: the application process; how to decide whether to apply; what makes a strong application; tips and advice from a current award holder.

We invite anyone who is interested in applying for this scheme to attend this online event-please email rf@history.ox.ac.uk to register your attendance.
