Oxford @ COP23 Bonn: Sub-national action on adaptation in and for Lease Developed Countries: The role of the LDCF
Venue: Hotel Ameron Konigshof, Adrenaueralle 9, 53111 Bonn, Germany Time: 12.00 – 13.00
A successful implementation of the Paris Agreement requires accelerated adaptation action, especially for communities, cities and states in Least Developed Countries, which are among the poorest and most vulnerable in the world. This requires both action on the ground and financial support for it.
Oxford Climate Policy is organizing a high-level exchange of views on the role of the UNFCCC Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and of sub-national actors in providing both these key requirements.
The event aims to provide an opportunity to discuss adaptation experiences and needs in LDCs, and the role of subnational authorities in implementing the Paris Agreement by supporting the most vulnerable to adapt. The event will also shine a light on opportunities for subnational support from the developed world for this, with a focus on contributions to the LDCF.
