Syrian Voices and Community Theatre Responses
This lively and informal round-table session brings together members of the Syrian artistic community, directors and writers.

Syrian Voices is a collaborative community history project that reaches out to Syrian refugees in the UK and members of the wider community via oral history interviews and collaborative film documentary and theatre projects.

Although UK theatres have been closed during the Pandemic, they continue to play an important role in bringing communities together. Syrian Voices is working in collaboration with Syrian actors and playwrights, The Playground Theatre (London) and The Trojan Women Project (Glasgow) on a series of theatre workshops and short plays in response to the Syrian conflict.

This lively and informal round-table session brings together members of the Syrian artistic community, directors and writers to discuss current theatre projects. The session will examine how response theatre engages and involves marginalised groups and helps to connect and bring communities together in times of crisis.
