OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Decolonising Classics - Research and Teaching as a Woman of Colour Academic
The Christian Cole Society for Classicists of Colour invites you all to attend a lecture on Friday 7th Week (06.03.20) from Dr Christine Yao (the only person of colour in the UCL English department), at the Oxford Classics Faculty – time tbc. Although not a Classicist, Dr Yao’s lecture will be relevant to cross-subject discussion on race, ethnicity and decolonisation.
In Solidarity with the UCU strikes, Dr Christine Yao will be talking about research and teaching as a woman of colour (WOC) academic using WOC feminist theory. The talk will be deeply tied to the importance of the UCU strikes.
