OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Can superconductors help us save the planet?
In this public lecture, Professor Susie Speller (Department of Materials) will introduce the extraordinary properties of superconductors, and will explore the practical challenges of deploying these very complex materials in revolutionary technologies. Followed by a drinks reception where Susie will launch her new book, a primer that introduces superconducting materials to non-expert readers: A Materials Science Guide to Superconductors: and how to make them super (OUP).
