Integrating community malaria worker programs into primary healthcare to promote their sustainability: a Thailand case study
The presentation will focus on projects that aim on minimizing malaria risk among forest goers, sustaining village malaria volunteer programmes in the Greater Mekong Subregion, and landscaping the health system to strengthen the linkage of the community-based workers with the primary care units. In these projects, in-depth interviews, focus groups, community survey and consultation, and stakeholder analysis were conducted to assess the feasibility and acceptability of an intervention that may lead to the disease prevention and better access to care among forest goers.
