A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Hamish Low will tackle the topic of the economics of disability by defining ‘health shocks’ and comparing the severity of a health shock to the quality of life and economic prosperity of the person affected by it. Low will compare the success of the UK vs the US government’s attempts to support people with health shocks, and consider the benefits to both the individual and the governments.
