Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Many researchers want to use their research or great ideas to make a difference to peoples lives. The way to do that is by translating your research from lab to market, or embarking on an entrepreneurial venture. This is done through technology transfer, using your intellectual property (IP) and expertise, or business development around your idea (also when there is no IP).
This seminar is being run is collaboration with Isis Innovation and will provide an introduction to intellectual property, technology transfer, patenting, the Isis Software Incubator and using your expertise through consultancy for other organisations. Support available from both within the University and the Oxfordshire region for these activities will be highlighted by Isis Innovation, the new Entrepreneurship Portal – Enterprising Oxford and the Launchpad (SBS).
Guest speakers from within the University and Isis spin-out companies will also give a flavour of their own experiences of creating and using intellectual property, ideas and expertise as an Oxford University researcher or entrepreneur. We aim to provide an insight into the realities of life in a spin-out and the challenges faced by small, new companies developing early-stage technologies.
During lunch there will be an opportunity to speak with the representatives from Isis Innovation and our guest speakers from Isis spin-out companies, Enterprising Oxford and the Launchpad. We aim to provide a lively and interactive session, so please come along with plenty of questions!
Course Format – Seminar with lunch provided.
