The changing roles of Central Banks
In this seminar, Charles Goodhart will discuss how there have been decades during which a conventional view of the role of central banks was generally adopted, interspersed with decades during which that role was subject to uncertainty and, somewhat confused, debate. Since 2008 we have been experiencing another period of such uncertainty about the role of central banks.
