OxTalks Change Freeze Starts 2 March
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Once Oxford Events launches, you will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
AI and Labor: Where We Are and What We Need
AIGI will host Bharat Chandar, a researcher at the Stanford Digital Economy Lab and Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, who will present his research on AI and the labor market tomorrow in Oxford. Bharat’s research focuses on labor economics and technology. His recent work estimates that AI has led to a 16% decline in hiring young people, while having little impact so far on more senior workers. His talk will cover the current state of research and identify where more data collection and work is needed.
