Re-imagining our urban future
The Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation Public Seminar series brings together members of the public, researchers and practitioners interested and engaged in urban health issues. The principal aim of the series is to provoke debate and constructive action, linking current best practice in urban development with emerging areas of health research.

In this seminar we explore the emergence of ‘urban futures’ thinking as a focus for helping co-create and co-produce city visions in the UK and internationally. If we are to transition to healthy and sustainable urban areas by 2050 at the latest, key questions include: How can formal city visions, such as Oxford 2050, help us achieve this? Can collaborative foresight play a role in our urban futures thinking? What are the opportunities and challenges of developing and implementing such visions? How can health be placed centre stage? What transferable lessons can we learn from international contexts?

Speakers:

Professor Michael Keith, University of Oxford

Cllr. Anna Railton, Oxford City Council

Professor Tolullah Oni, University of Cambridge

Mike Hood, Landsec
