Biodiversity in Oxfordshire: Otters
Bookings after 01/04/2016 will not receive a lunch.
Open to all current University students and staff

Ellen Lee, Biodiversity Data Services Officer at Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre will discuss the behaviour ecology and distribution of otters, as well as their decline and then the resurgence of the otter population of Oxfordshire since the early 2000’s. In particular, she will discuss the reasons behind the otter’s spectacular population decline from 1960s to the early 1990s and look at reasons for their subsequent equally spectacular recovery.

Harriet Waters, Head of Environmental Sustainability will also briefly discuss the University’s commitment to enhancing biodiversity, and the biodiversity strategy which is being developed to achieve this. This includes protecting, enhancing and connecting areas of amazing biodiversity within the University functional estate, such as Wytham woods, the Botanic Gardens and University Parks.
