Film Screening and Q&A: 'Somewhere Else Entirely'
Join trailblazing feminist magazine Bluestocking Oxford, an online journal investigating the intellectual and creative contributions of women throughout history, for a film salon with poet Ruth Fainlight and filmmaker Emily Andersen.

The screening will be followed by an exclusive discussion with Emily Andersen and Ruth Fainlight, hosted by Bluestocking Editor-in-Chief Olivia Hurton. After the talk, we invite you to join the speakers and the Bluestocking team at the drinks reception.

Andersen’s film is a vivid portrait of Fainlight, now aged 94, delicately drawing out different fragments of the poet’s life. Andersen captures her at home in London, making notes, on her walks, and in the seaside town of Brighton. This is a true cinematic treat – bringing together poetry and beautifully shot visuals, Somewhere Else Entirely explores themes of memory, time, loss and friendship.
