OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Sustainability at Oxford - the big University challenge?
The talk will look at the work of the
environmental sustainability team and, more
specifically, on how SoGE can help them to
develop a comprehensive environmental
sustainability strategy for the University.
About the author:
Harriet Waters is Head of Environmental Sustainability at the
University of Oxford. Since she took up the post in 2013, the
University has won awards for its work on carbon management,
reduced its overall carbon emissions, set stringent standards
for new buildings and committed to developing an ambitious
sustainability strategy. Prior to coming to Oxford she was
Sustainability Manager at Oxford Brookes University for ten years
so environmental sustainability in the city has occupied her
career over the much of the last two decades. At the University of
Oxford, Harriet manages the team that support the University’s
environmental sustainability policy. The teams’ main areas of work
include carbon reduction, building more sustainably, transport,
waste management and biodiversity. She is a keen cyclist and
supporter of cycle hire schemes and wants as many people as
possible to enjoy the wonder of bikes!
