OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
HIV in 2023: Risks and Opportunities
40 years since the advent of the HIV pandemic there is much to celebrate including the advent of long-acting injectable therapy that liberates people from the burden of daily oral therapy. However, the recent mpox pandemic reminds us that despite the therapeutic advances, HIV-related immunosuppression remains a life-threatening illness.
This seminar will be presented Chloe Orkin, a Professor of Infections and Inequities, Director of the SHARE collaborative at Queen Mary University of London and Honorary Consultant Physician at Barts Health NHS Trust. She is out-going Academic EDI Lead in the Faculty of Medicine at QMUL and former Athena Swan Chair. Chloe holds and has held both national and international leadership roles such as Past President of the Medical Women’s Federation, Past Chair of the British HIV Association and Governing Council of the International AIDS Society.
