OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Being Human Café – Vaccination: Old Worlds, New Worlds
Vaccines dominate the news right now. Vaccine development represents a possible exit strategy from the pandemic, conjuring up both hope and fear. But how did we get here? Featuring a mix of lightning talks and spoken word performance, come and join us for a chat about the history of vaccination. Find out about the history of infectious diseases and how vaccination was a medical tool mired in controversy from its beginning. Enter the strange world of Victorian anti-vaccination ballads. And learn more about how nineteenth-century newspapers and magazines carried word of vaccination, shaping public views about its practice.
