OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Principal's Conversation with Guardian reporter, Amelia Gentleman.
Join us for a special Principal’s Conversation with Amelia Gentleman, an award-winning journalist whose work has shed light on some of the most pressing social issues of our time. On 28 May 2025, Amelia will discuss her ground-breaking journalism, her experiences reporting on issues of immigration, human rights, and her book “The Windrush Betrayal”.
Amelia Gentleman, is a reporter for the Guardian. Her book The Windrush Betrayal, Exposing the Hostile Environment was shortlisted for the 2020 Orwell book prize. She was named journalist of the year in 2019 for her investigations into the Windrush scandal, and also won the Paul Foot award and an Amnesty prize for the reporting. Amelia previously reported from Paris and Moscow for the Guardian and from Delhi for the New York Times.
