A meandering personal and disciplinary biography has allowed Dr Nikita Sud to ask basic questions about development’s givens at the Oxford Department of International Development. As spaces of creativity, frontiers must unsettle the known, even as they breach unknown ground. Institutions of the state, market and politics; their interactions in the South and beyond; and their thorough entwinement with land, water, air, minerals, flora and fauna remain at the heart of the discipline. In this talk, Dr Nikita Sud will speak to her recent and ongoing work on the state, space and nature.
